For complex tasks or ones that require a specific, high level of expertise in fire, our in-house team of fire engineers is on hand to assist. They are highly qualified and are members and fellows of the Institution of Fire Engineers, operating at Chartered and Incorporated Engineer status. Many are also ex-brigade.

Assortment of fire-related reports and systems

Engineering reports

Our expert engineers provide detailed, holistic analyses of a building’s fire performance, considering building materials, escape routes and resident profiles. We will consider the findings of the intrusive survey regarding other contributing factors, such as a building’s height, use, resident mobility issues and current fire-safety precautions.

Strategy reports

These are intricate documents, bespoke to each building. They detail all aspects of a building’s fire-safety features. They must be included in buildings under construction and provided to a responsible person. This is a requirement under Regulation 38 of the Building Regulations. FRC can complete these reports before a project begins or retrospectively.

Statement reports

New planning requirements (planning gateway one) require planning applications to demonstrate that the building has been designed with fire safety in mind before planning permission is granted. Our qualified fire engineers will evidence the provisions made for the safety of occupants and protection of property, including justifying suitable access and equipment for firefighting.

Fire alarms and internal design system

If a fire occurs in a building, an effective alarm system can make all the difference. If your alarm is not fit for purpose or you are looking to enhance your current system, our accredited experts can guide you through the process from planning to installation. We can design your new alarm system in-house, working with you to ensure your new system is compliant and adheres to your building and residents’ needs. Our engineers will assess your building and make the appropriate recommendations. Our team of qualified and experienced building surveyors will design your alarm system, working closely with the engineers.

Intelliclad

Intelliclad is a wireless fire detection and alarm system certified to EN54-25, designed to be integrated into the external façade of high-risk buildings containing combustible materials. The system can alert residents quickly to a fire in the external wall system via an app.
