FRC is delighted to have received a response regarding another successful application to the Building Safety Fund on behalf of a buildings management company.

The 26-m-high block, located in Portishead, was found to require remediation to the combustible external wall systems and attachments, which made up the vast majority of the façade. Following the interpretation of the client’s third-party report, we met with the managing agent and the instructing party to outline the comprehensive lead consultancy services we could offer them to manage the remediation project through to completion.

“…the need for high-quality professional support and guidance was imperative.”

Extensive engagement with the client, their representative and the Homes England case worker enabled the project to progress smoothly during the pre-contract phase and subsequently achieve approval following the submission of the full works and costs details.

The project will now progress to the technical design stage, undertaken by the principal contractor before starting on-site, where FRC will also act in a Clerk of Works capacity to ensure compliance with design and a high standard of workmanship. This will greatly assist the client with obtaining their Building Assessment Certificate, which is required under the Building Safety Act 2022.

As with many management companies acting for multi-occupied buildings, we suddenly faced the considerable challenge of external wall replacement. To say we were entering uncharted territory was an understatement, and the need for high-quality professional support and guidance was imperative.

“We were introduced to FRC, and from the outset, they have provided the range of skills and expertise needed to navigate us through tendering, contractor selection and the drawing up of all the necessary documentation and contracts. I have found the team both receptive and accommodating.

“The construction work is yet to commence, but I believe we can confidently approach that, knowing FRC will be by our side.”
